William N. Zammer, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, 89 years of age of Rymin Road, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Center in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
Survived by his beloved wife of seventy-one years, Wanda S. (Kozikowski) Zammer; sons, William W. Zammer and his wife Linda of Mashpee, MA, Louis Zammer of Nazareth, and Thomas Zammer of Tamaqua; daughters, Wandie N. Zammer - Little of Tamaqua, and Mrs. Denise Garrity wife of Thomas of Wescosville; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
A Graduate of Frackville High School, Bill retired as a Supervisor from U.P.S. Hometown depot, after a tenure of thirty years, starting as a truck driver. Bill also had owned the former Leather Corner Post Hotel in Orfield, Pennsylvania, and assisted his son William with the operation of his restaurants on Cape Cod, MA for a number of years where the locals affectionately referred to him as "Gramps".
A member of SS. Peter & Paul Parish of St. John XXIII R.C.C. Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, Bill was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Henry Baker Lodge #2711 rising to become a 4th Degree Knight. Bill served the lodge as a former Grand Knight and Trustee. Also, Bill was an honorary life member of the Schuylkill Assembly #923, having served in the capacity of District Governor.
Born Wednesday, October 6, 1926 in Frackville, he was the son of the late Nicholas, and Helen (Nahas) Zammer. Bill was also predeceased by a son Robert Zammer in 1962; sisters, Miss Marie Zammer, and Mrs. Helen Kenny; brothers Nicholas, and Paul Zammer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 o'clock AM on Saturday July 16, 2016 from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. Parish of St. John XXIII located at 301 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
Friends shall be received in church on Saturday morning from 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
Private Interment will be in St. Matthew's R.C.C. Cemetery, Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, where he will be laid to rest with his son.
