William F. Meredith, age 90, of Tamaqua, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in, Coaldale.
A 1940 Tamaqua High School graduate, Bill served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Returning home in 1945 he joined his father working at Meredith's Shoe Repair business which he operated in Tamaqua until 2004, making him the last remaining business of it's kind in Tamaqua.
A member of Trinity U.C.C., Bill was the last surviving member of the consistory responsible for the 1960 building of the present church. Having held the office of treasurer of the Sunday School, Bill was also active in the church Men's Brotherhood.
Bill, was a member of the Tamaqua American Legion and Tamaqua Stamp Club. In 2011 Bill was honored by Gov. Tom Corbett, being inducted into the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame for fifty years of consecutive voting.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late William L. and Wilda May (Kanute) Meredith.
He is survived by his
Two Daughters,
Bernadette (Meredith) Nester wife of Dennis,
Debbie (Meredith) Delp wife of Bob, both of Tamaqua;
Two Sisters,
Isabelle (Meredith) Kraipovich,
Jean (Meredith) Homanick wife of Tom both of Allentown;
One grandchild, Angela Nester.

Memorial service will be at Trinity U.C.C. at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2013.
