William C. Herring, 82, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Tamaqua, died Saturday, July 28, 2012.
He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Teter) Herring for almost 62 years.
He retired from the Clarendon Hotel in 1992.
Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Clarence "Fish" and Mary (Edmonds) Herring.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
William was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church, Tamaqua.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Donald and David, both of Phoenix;
a sister, Harriet Ann Miller van Boven in Delaware; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son Dennis.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11 o'clock AM at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, PA, Reverend Rodney Hall to officiate. Call from 9:30 AM until time of service.
Interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua.
