William Furmanchin, 73, of Weatherly passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 27, 2016.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, Mary Agnes (Dinsmore) Furmanchin and James Francis Furmanchin, and his only brother, James W. Furmanchin Sr.
William is survived by his sister-in- law and loving caretaker, Carol Furmanchin, of Weatherly; nephews: James W. Furmanchin Jr. and companion Donna Maiello, of Beaver Meadows; John Furmanchin and wife Desi, of Weatherly; Jeff Furmanchin and wife Sandy, of Weatherly; Joe Furmanchin and fiancée Bernie Gombeda, of Drums; Jerry Furmanchin, of Weatherly; and one niece: Susan (Furmanchin) Kline and husband James Dean, of Danville. Along with his nieces and nephews, he is survived by his great-nieces and great-nephews: Jason, Jeffrey, Ryan, Kayla, Corey, Hilary, Lauren, Abigail, Crystal and Bree.
In William’s early years, he enjoyed working at the Carbon Training Center. In more recent years, he enjoyed spending time at the Blue Mountain Adult Daycare Center. Uncle Bill loved being with his family, especially his niece and nephews. In 1972, following the death of William’s mother, James and Carol moved back into the family home with their six children to be with Uncle Bill. He remained with them until 2008 when James passed away, and then continued to live with Carol for the remaining years of his life.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services 211 First St., Weatherly, PA.
Msgr. William Baker will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church 318 Plane St., Weatherly, PA.
Uncle Bill’s family will receive visitors at the church before the services starting at 10:00 AM.
Interment will be at St. Nicholas R.C.C.C., Weatherly, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to: Blue Mountain Adult Day Care, 525 Iron St, Lehighton, PA, 18235 are encouraged.
