William L Edmonds 102 years old, born and raised in Tamaqua Pennsylvania. In 1982 he moved to St Pete's Florida. William went “Safely Home” to his Heavenly Father July 29th 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his passing.
Born Wednesday, July 19, 1922 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania the son of the late William H., and Minnie (Collins) Edmonds. William was also predeceased by; wife, Marie (Derr) Edmonds; daughter, Evelyn Edmonds; sons, William Edmonds, Raymond Edmonds; grandson, Nicholas Zeigler; sisters, Mary Herring, Gladys Brode, Evelyn Miller, Bertha K. Yemm, Phyllis Theodore; brothers, Herbert, and Wilbur Edmonds.
He is survived by; his daughter, Jessica (Edmonds) Zeigler and her husband Marlin; grandchildren, Thomas Edmonds and companion Barbara Engler, Lisa Woods husband Henry, Denise Sauers, husband Michael, Nathan Zeigler, wife Jessica. Nolan Zeigler, wife Lindsey. Alexander Zeigler and his princess Alexis Zeigler; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. As well as many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A 1940 Tamaqua High School graduate, He was a World War II veteran, and an original member of the USS Intrepid. The USS Intrepid saw a multitude number of battles during the war. On July 13th 2024, an article was published to honor William L Edmonds remembering his “Darkest Day” on the USS Intrepid. He was eternally grateful to be recognized as a strong fighter and hero during World War II. Returning home to Tamaqua, William worked at Atlas Powder Co. in Clamtown from 1944 to 1982. A longtime devoted member of the Primitive Methodist Church in Tamaqua, Williams devoted his life to our Lord. In his youth he enjoyed fishing trips to Canada.

Celebration of Williams life will be held at the Primitive Methodist Church located at 57 Hunter Street Tamaqua Pennsylvania on Friday August 30, 2024 at 11 o'clock A.M. Friends may call in church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
