William H. Barnhart, age 55, of East Miner Street Coaldale, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, courageously at home, surrounded by and in the care of his family.
A 1974 Panther Valley High School graduate, Bill attended Penn State, Hazleton, majoring in Forestry, and earned his Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lincoln Technical School of Allentown.
A member of St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua where he served as lector and Eucharistic Minister; he was a 3rd Degree member of the Henry Baker Knights of Columbus.
Bill was a P.I. A.A. referee, officiating High School Voleyball, Basketball, and Track & Field. Bill coached CYO basketball and volleyball.
Having last worked for Sam Adams Brewery of Fogelsville, Bill previously worked for the former Atlas Powder of Reynolds, and Dana Corporation.
Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Howard and Verna (Miller) Barnhart.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Catherine A. (Price) Barnhart;

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jerome R.C.C. at 11 o'clock AM Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
Interment will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery in Tamaqua, Pa.
