Walter A. Woods

Walter A. Woods, 94 years of age of Weatherly, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Heritage Hills in Weatherly.
Survived by his wife of twenty years, Winifred M. "Winkie" (Mulhern) Woods.
A 1939 graduate of Hawthorne High School in New Jersey, Walter enlisted in the United States Air Force serving honorably during WWII as a tail gunner. William was awarded the American Theater Medal, Air Medal with 3 Oak Clusters, Distinguished Flying Cross, European -African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Returning home Walter was a self employed insurance salesman operating his own agency.
Walter, was a member of the Masons, and the American Legion. Walter enjoyed golfing, fishing, and baseball.
Born Monday, January 17, 1921 in Paterson , New Jersey son of the late Walter, and Jean (Johnson) Woods.
In addition to his wife he is survived by;
Daughter, April (Woods) Harris and her husband Jan of Danville, PA;
Step sons;
Thomas Learn and his wife Georgia of Palmyra, NY.,
William Learn and his wife Karen of Leland, NC;
13 grand children; 14 great grand children. 3 great great grandchildren;
Preceded in death by his first wife, June Woods; son, Walter Woods, Jr.,
Arrangements entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services 211 First street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255.
A Funeral service with Military honors will be at 11 o'clock AM on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services located at 211 First Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255, Rev. Donald Stump to officiate.
A Gathering of Friends shall take place at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
Interment will be in Bay View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ.
