Walter "Bud" I. Henne

Mr. Walter I. "Bud" Henne, age 84, formerly of Tamaqua, Pa., died Friday, December 18, 2009, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Hometown.

A Tamaqua High School graduate, Bud was a WWII Navy Veteran.

He served as a Tamaqua Borough Police Officer for 22 years, retiring in 1972.

Bud, was a member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, the South Ward Fire Company of Tamaqua, and the Schuylkill / Carbon F.O.P..
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Lewis and Lulu (Neifert) Henne.

He is survived by his

One Daughter,
Mary Lou (Henne) Hromyak wife of Michael, Sr. of Tamaqua;

Two Sons,
Walter L. "Sonny" Henne of Slatington,
John T. Henne of Tamaqua;

Six grandchildren
Seven great-grandchildren

Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Carter) Henne Jan 11, 2002; brother Robert Henne August 19, 1989

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2009.

Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2009, Rev. David Grant officiating.

Private Interment will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua, Pa.
