Walter D. Burke of Weatherly passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 16, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania at the age of 84.
Widower of Helen J. (Hinkle) Burke who died on July 23, 2014, he is survived by; daughters, Nancy A. Green wife of Clinton of Tamaqua, Linda B. Bagnata of Bloomsburg; grandchildren, Angela, Julia, and Maria Bagnata; sister, Patricia Searfoss wife of David of Wilkes-Barre; brothers, Robert Burke and his wife Grace, Thomas Burke, James Burke and his wife Vicky all of White Haven; many nieces and nephews also survive him.
A White Haven High School graduate, Walter served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Reconnaissance Specialist with the Korean Military Advisory Group 8202 translating and assisting in the training of the South Korean Army. Walter retired as a Postal Carrier in Weatherly. He was a member of the Weatherly Legion, and Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. Walter enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Born in White Haven the son of the late Walter A., and Josephine (Sirosky) Burke. He was also predeceased by; sister, Mary Jane Witkowski; brothers, Donald, Richard, Edward, and William Burke.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 21, 2018 at 10 o'clock A.M. from Calvary Cemetery, 49 S. Hunter Highway Drums, Pennsylvania 18222 with Military Honors.
Friends may call on Friday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 P.M.
