Mr. Virgil R. Shellhamer, age 48, of Arlington St., Tamaqua died Monday, October 17, 2011, at home.
Virgil was employed by Ametek Westchester Plastics, Nesquehoning.
He was a member of Trinity UCC of Tamaqua.
He was a 1981 Tamaqua High School graduate and a 1983 Williamsport Area Community College graduate.
Virgil was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan and enjoyed deer hunting.
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Virgil H. Shellhamer and the late Lois M. (Sakusky) Shellhamer.
He is survived by his
One Daughter,
Alyssa L Shellhamer of Barnesville;
One Son,
Derek A. Shellhamer with whom he resided;
One Sister,
Mary E Clemson and her husband Ronald of Stroudsburg;
Two grandchildren, Hayden and Axton.
Preceded in death by his brother, William C. Shellhamer.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 9:30-11:00 AM.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Pastor Thomas Reinsel officiating.
Interment at Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua.
