Timothy J. Sweeney

Timothy J. Sweeney, loving husband, and father, 64 years of age of East Bertsch Street Lansford, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., surrounded by his family.

Survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth (Rybnikar) Sweeney.

A 1967 Panther Valley High School graduate, Tim served in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam Conflict.

Tim was a member of St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua, the Lansford Italian Club, and Lansford Amvets.

Tim had worked for Bethlehem Mines.

Born in Coaldale, the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Kennedy) Sweeney.

He is also survived by;

Daughter,
Erin L. (Sweeney) Hendrickson wife of Daniel of Clementon, NJ;

Nephew,
Timothy Patrick Sweeney of Coaldale.

Preceded in death by his daughter,
Kelly Elizabeth Sweeney on Sept. 29, 2006; brother, Dr. Joseph T. Sweeney.

Holmes - Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc.655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, PA 18252 is in charge of arrangements.

Friends shall be received from the funeral home on Sunday afternoon February 23, 2014 from 2 to 4:00 P.M., and Monday morning February 24, 2014 from 8:45 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o'clock A.M, from St. Jerome R.C.C., 264 West Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pa. 18252. Military Honors will be bestowed in church.

Interment at St. John Slovak Lutheran Church Cemetery of Summit Hill, Pa.
