Thomas F. Sommers, age 76, of East Elm Street Tamaqua, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at St. Lukes Bethlehem.
A 1953 Summit Hill High School graduate, Tom retired from the former Danti Garments of Lansford having worked as a cloth cutter.
Tom was a member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua, and the Henry Baker Knights of Columbus.
He belonged to the American Legions of Tamaqua, Coaldale and Summit Hill, and the Keystone Hunt & Fish Club of Tamaqua.
Born in Summit Hill, he was the son of the late Thomas and Grace (Blackwell) Sommers.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Prudence C. (Cathcart) Sommers;
One Daughter,
Jacqueline wife of John Murphy of Nesquehoning;
Four Sons,
Thomas K. Sommers and his wife Alanna of Harrisburg,
Brian Sommers and his wife Cathy of Auburn Maine, Chad Sommers and his wife Michelle of Columbus, Ohio, Gary Trevorah and his wife Janet of Austin, Tx.;
Eleven grandchildren
Four great-grandchildren;
Preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Theresa Rose; brother, William Sommers.
