Thomas A. Papay, 67, of Lansford unexpectedly passed away Monday at St. Luke’s Hospice,
Bethlehem surrounded by his family.
Born May 26, 1945 he was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Lazar) Papay.
He was a graduate of Palmerton High School and McCann School of Business.
Tom retired as a Pipeline worker from Utility Line Services, Birdsboro.
He was an avid Golfer and Pool Player, belonging to the Mahoning Valley Country Club, Tamaqua River Valley Pool League, Palmerton Pool League, and Jim Thorpe Pool League. He was also a member of the Beaver Run Club and Lehigh Fire Co. No. 1, Inc.
Surviving are his spouse of 43 years Theresa ( Mitchell) Papay;
Two sons, Bryan Papay of Kresgeville; Pat Papay and his wife Marty of Jacksonville FL;
Three Daughters, Serena Camlin and her husband Mark of West
Lawn; Stacy Kerstetter and her husband Dave of Lake Hauto; and Dawn Frankenfield and her fiance Bob Kopler of Gurnee, IL;
Two Brothers, Paul and
his wife Carol of Palmerton; Joe and his wife Theresa of Sun City West, AZ;
Two Aunts Pauline Harvan of Lansford ; Agnes Magalla of Anchorage AK;
Five Grandchildren Seth, Lauren, Kayla, Alyssa and Lexi;
Numerous Nieces and
Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM Friday March 15, 2013 from the Holmes-Griffiths
Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St. Tamaqua, PA 18252 with Father Medve officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Leukemia Foundation 3520 Lake Ave., Suite 202 Wilmette, IL 60091 or the American Diabetes Association 1701 Beauregaurd St. Alexandria, VA 22311.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
