Mr. Thomas S. Hischar, age 64, of Norman Street, Weatherly, PA, died Friday, February 27, 2009, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Salisbury Township.

Thomas was a 1963 Hazleton High School graduate. After graduation he entered the United States Air Force, and served during the Vietnam War. Later, while a member of the Air Force Reserve, he served during Desert Storm.

Thomas retired as a Maintenance Mechanic from Dorr- Oliver of Hazleton, PA.

A member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, he was a 4th Degree Knight of St. Nicholas Council #12105.

He was currently serving into his third term on the Weatherly Borough Council. He is a former President of the Weatherly Rotary, and was active in the Weatherly Little League Association.

Thomas was a O-gauge train enthusiast.

Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Blasko) Hischar.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Karen (Young) Hischar;

Two Sons,
Daniel T. Hischar and his wife, Tammy of Mountain Top,
Chad Hischar and his finacee, Bernadette Knepper of Weatherly.

Three Sisters,
Martha (Hischar) Zellner wife of, Albert of Hazleton, Mary Hischar of Hazleton.
Patricia (Hischar) Halye of Hazleton.

One Brother,
Steve Hischar and his wife, Jean of Hazleton.

Two grandchildren, Alexander, and Justin;

Many nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by brother, George Hischar; sister, Dorothy Lore

Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Philip J. Jeffries F.D./ Supervisor.

Callings hours will follow Tuesday evening's scheduled 6:00 PM mass until 8:00 PM on March 3, 2009 and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. 318 Plane Street Weatherly, PA 18255.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Loudes R.C.C. at 12 o'clock noon Wednesday, March 4, 2009, Rev. Floyd Caesar officiating.

Interment with military honors will be at St. Nicholas R.C.C. Cemetery of Weatherly.
