Mr. Thomas E. Gerber, age 85, of 613 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Wilkes-Barre Veteran's Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Harry Gerber & Martha (Rex) Gerber.
He was a member of St. John UCC of Tamaqua, PA, a WWII Army Veteran having received the bronze star 5 times and the service medal, a 1942 graduate of Tamaqua High School and a amateur feather weight boxer with a record of 44 & 6.
He is survived by:
Brother: Alfred Gerber of Coaldale, PA.
Sister: Helen Knepper of Kempton, PA
Niece Kathleen White with whom he resided for over 34 years.
Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by brothers: Charles, Lewis, Irvin, Clayton and Clavin and sisters Evelyn Breiner and Mamie P. Smolar.
Calling Hours: Thursday February 14, 2008 from 9:30 am until time of service at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home Inc.
Funeral Service : Thursday at 11 AM with the Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy officiating.
Interment will be at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, Pa. with full military honors.
