Thomas M. Baker

March 31, 1933 — February 19, 2014

Thomas M. Baker 80 yrs. of age of Bel Air Maryland, died Wednesday February 19, 2014 at Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore MD.

Preceded, in death by his wife of 52 years, Ann V. (Marusak) Baker,they enjoyed cruising the Caribbean, and visiting the Outer Banks in summer and fall.

A graduate of St. Gabriel's Catholic High School in Hazleton, Tom was certified as a Journeyman Machinist, working at Barrett & Haentjens & Co., in 1953. Tom joined the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Upon his return home he entered Penn State University, earning his degree in Business Administration. Tom remained an avid Penn State Fan of all sports, and ardent Baltimore Ravens fan.

Moving to Maryland, Tom began his thirty three year career in Government, first being assigned to Edgewood Arsenal, of Edgewood, MD., then transferring to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, where he retired from Human Resources. During Tom's tenure he and Ann accepted a three year post to Germany which spanned from 1969 to 1972. This provided family with an opportunity to visit and spawn lasting friendships.

Tom was very social and displayed a great sense of humor, he enjoyed reading, playing pinochle, and dining with friends.

Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Robert S., and Ellen Nellie (Friel) Baker.

Survived by his;
Daughters:
Michele White wife of Michael , Lancaster, Pa.,
Cheryl A. Fatcheric wife of Mark, Edgewood, MD;

Brother:
Gene Baker, Peoria, IL;

Two grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Carrie Ann and Alicia Marie O’Donel;

Nieces and nephews also survive him.

Preceded in death by his son, Michael Thomas Baker; sister, Mrs. Helen McCann; brothers, Robert, John, and Joseph Baker.

Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services 211 First Street Weatherly, PA 18255 is in charge of arrangements.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated, at noon on Saturday, February 22, 2014, from Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pa. 18255, Rev. Floyd Caesar officiating.

Memorials in his name may be made to American Heart and Lung Association.

Interment at St. Nicholas R.C.C. Cemetery of Weatherly.
