Theodore Bogosh Jr (Teddy), (98 years 0f age, of south Tamaqua passed away Saturday Sept 2 2023 at his home with his family present. Born January 7, 1925 He was the son of late Theodore (Frank) Bogosh and Anna (Matrician) Bogosh. He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Inswiler, Olga Sulikoski, Brothers Steve Bogosh, John Bogosh and Michael Bogosh. Teddy was married to Marion (Stahler) Bogosh for 63 years. Marion passed away in 2013. His recent companion Gloria Ferri passed away in 2020.
He is survived by his Son Theodore Bogosh III, and his companion Deb Billman, Daughter Betty Renninger and her husband Dale, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was known to his beloved family and their friends as Gedo. He is also Survived by many nieces and nephews. Teddy was Definitely young at heart, loved a good joke, touched the lives of so many people and was loved by all.
Teddy was a WWII Navy veteran, having served in the Atlantic and Pacific as a Senor Chief Motor Machinist Mate aboard the USS Cates DE-763 and other vessels. Teddy was the proprietor of the Bogash Café, A very popular meeting place for friends and family until it burned down in the 1980's. He drove trucks for local coal companies, worked for Bethlehem Steel, and had his own roof coating business for years. Teddy then worked as a welder at Dana/Parish in Reading for 24 years with loyal service, retiring in 1988.
Even though Teddy formally retired he continued to be very active working with his son's tree service business and remained very social throughout the community. Teddy was an active member of St Mary's Russian Orthodox Church of Coaldale, Patton VFW post #5069 in Andreas, Auburn American Legion, Post #895, and West Penn Rod and Gun Club and their Pool team.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 8, 2023 at 11 o'clock A.M. from St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church 217 1st Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania 18218
A visitation will occur on the morning of services from 10:00 A.M. until time of services, and on Thursday evening September 7, 2023 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Parastas Services will be held on Thursday evening September 7, 2023 at 7:30 P.M. Rev. James Wermedic to officiate.
Interment with Military Honors to be bestowed at Sky-View Memorial Park Tamaqua Pennsylvania.
