Suzanne M. Dougherty

Mrs. Suzanne M. (Hutira) Dougherty, age 95, of Mulberry Street Tuscarora, Pa., died Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in the home of her daughter and son-in-law with whom she resided.

Suzanne was a Member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua, Pa.

In 1925 & 1926 she recieved the Spelling Certificate Award, issued by the Pottsville Republican newspaper, signed by Mr. Zerby for the annual Spelling competition.

Suzanne worked as a Nanny in Montclair New Jersey.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Sacco) Hutira.

She is survived by her

Daughter, with whom she resided,
Mrs. Patricia (Dougherty) Push wife of John of Tuscarora, Pa.

Two Brothers,
Mr. Martin Hutira, Sr. of Locust Valley, Pa.,
Mr. Paul Hutira of Orwigsburg, Pa.;

Many nieces and nephews;

Sister-in-law's, Anna wife of the late John Hutira of Orwigsburg, Pa., and Anna wife of the late Steve Hutira of Mahanoy City, Pa.;

Preceded in death by her Husband, Cornelius "Skip" Dougherty in 1992; Brothers, Russell and Joseph Hutira.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 5, 2008 and from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday, September 6, 2008.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 6, 2008, Rev. William Linkchorst officiating.

Interment St. Bertha's R.C.C. Cemtery, Tuscarora, Pa.
