Stephen Lee Tomko, 30 years of age, of Doney Run, Weatherly was ushered into the everlasting, outstretched arms of his loving Savior and Lord on Monday September 22nd, 2014 from injuries sustained from a fall.
He was born not with disabilities as the world knows and sees, but with unique God-given abilities that he shared with everyone to give them hope and courage. Stephen was an inspiration to everyone he met or knew of him. His contagious smile, belly laugh, and exuberant personality brought encouragement and joy to all. He embraced life with such zeal and selfless compassion for others because of his love and devotion to Jesus Christ. His mischievous mannerisms kept everybody captivated and involved in his ways of life through examples of popcorn showers in the car, pull tabs strewn across his room, chasing and calling after all of his ladies for hugs and kisses, shredding of papers and throwing of pencils, and like mother like son frequent shopping excursions throughout Boscov’s and Walmart. Stephen's love for contributing to the benefit of others led to his charitable work of collecting pull tabs for the Ronald McDonald House of Hershey, PA and Joni and Friends of the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter. Attending church and the Lighthouse day center were highlights of every single week.
Stephen was our teacher in life and taught us what God values as real meaning through his simplistic ways and true contentment. Yes, sometimes miracles hide and God wraps his blessings in disguise, but we are comforted in knowing that he is no longer bound by earthly constraints or the world's perception of how one values a life.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalms 30:5
