Mrs. Sophie M (Laskos) Reiger, age 88, of Tamaqua, Pa., died Friday, January 8, 2010, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Pottsville, Pa. She was a member of St Jerome R.C.C. , Tamaqua, Pa.
She retired from the garment industry having worked for about 50 years.
Born in Lansford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Laskos and the late Mary (Basiago) Laskos.
She is survived by her
companion, Albert Schwarz of Tamaqua
one daughter,
Sophie (Reiger) Leibensperger of Huntington Beach, CA
one sister,
Adele Lech of Coaldale
one brother,
Walter Laskos of Florida
five grandchildren
five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, George H. Reiger in 1983; son, George; sister, Mary Rusnak.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 9:30-10:30 A.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Jerome R.C. Church 264 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, Pa. Reverend James C. Bechtel officiating.
Interment at Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pa.
