Shirleyan Mondero, 88 years of age, beloved mother and grandmother, of East Main Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the home of her daughter Camille in Douglassville, Pennsylvania.
Born Sunday, December 9th, 1934 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Gallagher) Vozar. She was also predeceased in death by her husband of 5 years, Nicholas Carl Mondero who passed away on April 19th, 2014; and sisters, Marie Scatton and Joan Patt.
Surviving are; daughter, Camille Hayes wife of Thomas; sons, Carl E. Mondero, Chris H. Mondero, Colin J. Mondero; grandchildren, whom she adored and doted on, Brady, Sydney, Dani.
A graduate of Hazleton High School, Shirleyan, a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly was an avid Notre Dame football fan and reveled in following her grandchildren's sporting endeavors, especially her granddaughters' Villanova and Stanford University softball teams. Always the life of the party and known for her love of action and adventure, Shirleyan always kept a suitcase packed and absolutely loved traveling with her family to exciting places. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she loved spending time with her nieces who meant the world to her. Pinochle was a favorite pastime and she loved playing for hours with her children when they were all together.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 11 o'clock A.M. From Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C., 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255. Friends may call in church from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
