Sheila M. Hinkle, mother, and nana, 85 years of age of Evergreen Ave., Weatherly, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Weatherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Weatherly, surrounded by her family. Widow of Clarence E. "Smokey" Hinkle who passed away on March 5, 1992, she is survived by; son, son, Randy D. Hinkle and his wife Debbie of Weatherly; daughter, Linda G. Weichman and her husband Raymond, Jr. of Weatherly; sister, Jean Schwartz of Hazleton; grand child, Holly Weichman of Weatherly; companion , Charlie Scott. A member of Salem U.C.C. of Weatherly, Weatherly Seniors, Shelia delivered Meals on Wheel in Weatherly for many years. Sheila, had worked for Tung-Sol and in the textile industry as a young woman. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, and crocheting. Born in Hazleton the daughter of the late John, and Irene (Walck) Callahan. She was also predeceased by a son Gary Lee Hinkle; sister, Mrs. Louise Karns; brothers, James, John, and Howard Callahan. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation services of 211 First Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255. (570) 427-4231 A Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock AM on Wednesday March 1, 2017 from the funeral home, Rev. Sharon Frey to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
