Sandra L (Rataczak) Shemonsky, age 67, of 6th St., Weatherly, died Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Hazleton General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael R. Shemonsky.
Sandra had been employed by Weatherwood as an In-Service Director and previously was a nursing instructor at Women's Medical Center, Phila. and Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
She was a 1964 graduate of Weatherly High School, St. Luke's School of Nursing and Temple University where she acquired a B.S. in Education.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Weatherly.
Sandra was an animal lover.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Rataczak and the late Ruth (Smith) Rataczak.
She is also survived by her
One Son,
Nicholas C Shemonsky of Pottsville.
Preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Ann (Rataczak) Bobal.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 211 First St., Weatherly, Pa. where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6-7 PM.
Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 7 o'clock PM at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Pastor Dawn Richie to officiate.
Private Interment at Union Cemetery, Weatherly.
