Ruth C. Strauss

Ruth C. Strauss, age 97, passed away at Cornwall Manor on 12/29/07.
Born in Lansford, PA.,
she was the only child of Ulysses S. Grant Strauss and Mary (Jones) Strauss of
Abbott Street.
A graduate of Lansford High School, she worked in accounting for LC&N.
One of the first people in the area to train on bar coding, she left LC&N
to join First Pennsylvania Bank in Phila., where she advanced from entry level
record keeping, to Mgr. of the Trust Dept.
Upon retiring she moved to Cornwall Manor where she continued to travel
extensively both in and out of the United States.
Miss Strauss was a life long, active member of the United Methodist Church, and a 35 yr
member of the choir at the Oxford, Philadelphia, church she attended. She was actively
involved in volunteer work in her church and the community.
Locally she is survived by cousins Sara Jane (Heilner) Bensinger and Richard
G. Jones along with cousins on both sides of the Jones and Strauss families.
