Ruth A. Hinkle 80 years of age, of Packer Township, a lifelong resident of Weatherly, passed away Monday afternoon January 18, 2021 as a guest of St. Luke's Manor Hazleton.
Born Hazleton, on March 22, 1940 she was the daughter of the late William and Lydia (Henry) Hinkle. Ruth was also predeceased by; sister, Dorothy Zullo; brothers, Donald, Harold, William, Herman, Robert, Paul, and James Hinkle.
A 1958 graduate of Weatherly High School, Ruth was employed for 25 years at the former Acme Markets, and was owner of the Personal Touch Gift Shop in the Weatherly Plaza until her retirement.
Ruth enjoyed traveling the United States, and overseas. Her hobbies were knitting, doing handcrafts, playing scrabble, and canasta. Ruth loved cooking her favorite recipes as she entertained family and friends at her home. She will be remembered for her fun loving and quick sense of humor.
Surviving are; her best friend of 53 years, Joyce Weaver of Weatherly; brother Henry Hinkle and his wife Shirley of Weatherly; sister-in-laws, Ilene Hinkle of Weatherly, Annette Hinkle of Florida; caregiver, Linda Binder, and many nieces, nephews also survive Ruth.
A member of Cornerstone Bible Church of Nescopeck, Ruth was an Evangelical Christian, having received Christ as her personal savior at an early age, and is now in Heaven with her Lord.
