Russell L. Woodward Jr.

Russell L. Woodward, Jr., 80 years of age, of Lansford, Pennsylvania died on Monday, November 25, 2024, at home.

Born Saturday, December 18, 1943 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania the son of the late Russell L. Woodward, Sr., and Geraldine "Jean" (Butler) Woodward. Russell was also predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Patricia A. (Toth) Woodward on August 24, 2013; son, Russell B. Woodward; brother, Donald Woodward.

Surviving are daughter, Lori A. Zonca wife of Joseph J. Zonica Jr. of Lansford; grandchildren, Tiffany Black, Colton Black; great grandchildren, Arri Cambria, Talon Cambria, Ryker Cambria, Ava Black, Carson black, and McKenna Black.

A Tamaqua High School graduate, Russel served honorably in the United States Army Artillery and Airborne Infantry training with the 101 First Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Retiring from the Panther Valley School District Russell was a bus driver, and worked as a custodian. Russell was a member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, East End Fire Co. of Tamaqua, Lansford Fire Co.#1,and Coaldale Fire Department serving as Captain of the Fire Police since 1982. Russell was an avid outdoorsman.
