Russell R. Hill

June 24, 1927 — October 22, 2015

Russell R. Hill, 88 years of age formerly of Andreas, of East Phillips Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Lehighton, Pennsylvania.

A member of Zion's Stone Church of West Penn Township, Russell had worked in the Poultry Industry.

Russell served honorably during WWII in the United States Army. He maintained membership in the Ashton American Legion.

Born Friday, June 24, 1927 in Beaver Meadows, the son of the late Edward, and Ozella (Knepper) Hill.

Surviving are;

Son, Samuel P. Hill and his wife Crystal of Delaware;

Daughter, Nancy Draper and her husband Dean of Belen, New Mexico;

Brother, Donald Hill of Bristol, VA;

Sisters, Shirley Brock of Georgia, Lorraine Anderson of Bechtelsville, PA;

6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

Russell's good friends Charles Nunemacher also survives him.

Preceded in death by; wife, Mary (Hoppes) Hill, daughter, Debbie Miler, sister, Mrs. Ruth Crowling, brothers, Earl, Edward, and William Hill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home & Cremation Services of 2066 West Penn Pike New Ringgold, Pennsylvania 17960.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock A.M. on Tuesday October 27, 2015 from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. located at 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252, Rev. Kenneth T. Melber to officiate.

Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home.

Interment with Military Honors will be in Sky View Memorial, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
