Robert Earl Ehret, Jr., 76, New Ringgold, passed away in his home on April 8, 2023. He was the son of the late Virginia (Sigley) and Robert Earl Ehret, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Deborah (Comisac) Ehret and his children, including Robert III; Michael and companion Jennifer Ohl; Jennifer, wife of Shane Strohl; Jesse; Melissa, wife of Brian Shaffer; and Leah. He had 13 grandchildren: Michael Jr. and his wife Hannah, Nicholas, Bradley, Brent, Evan, Wyatt, and Conor Ehret; Chad Strohl and his wife Adreanna, Alaina Strohl, Casey and Jake Shaffer, Courtney Bonetsky, and Elizabeth Mustacchio; and three great-grandchildren, Vance and Noah Ehret and Marlee Shaffer. He is also survived by sister, Bev Ehret; brother, William Ehret and his wife Katherine; and many nieces and nephews. His loyal and protective dog Lacey spent the last 15 years by his side and left this world just a few hours before Bob did. He was also predeceased by an infant brother, Alan.
Bob was no stranger to hard work and there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix or do. His career path included driving truck and, in following in his father’s footsteps, cutting boulders to a usable size for masons and builders. He spent countless hours, even at a very young age, digging stone from the Blue Mountain and local sand quarries. He enjoyed working alongside his father and taught his own children their shared honest work ethic. In fact, some of his children’s most cherished memories are the days they worked with and learned from him.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church in Coaldale, PA.
