Robert W. Byatt, husband, father, and grandfather, 82 years of age of West Broad Street Tamaqua, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Luke's Medical Center, Bethlehem.
Survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Eveland) Byatt; daughters, Susan E, Perry wife of Jason , East Stroudsburg, Pa.,
Mary Ann Byatt of Center Valley, Pa; son, Robert D. Byatt and his wife Mary of Washington Twp. , NJ.; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Byatt, and Collin Perry.
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late William, and Mary Ann (West) Byatt.
A 1949 Coaldale High School graduate, Bob was an active member of St. Jerome R.C.C., having sung in the church choir, and lectured, and coached St. Jerome C.Y.O. basketball. A member of The Men of Marian. Bob had served as Grand Knight of the Henry W. Baker Knights of Columbus, Lodge #2111.
Bob was a sale representative for Mertropolitan Life Insurance Co., and Knights of Columbus Life Insurance Co..
E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252, in charge of his care.
Friends shall be received on Wed. April 30, 2014 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thur. May 1, 2014 at 10 o'clock A.M. from St. Jerome R.C.C., 266 West Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
No morning calling.
Interment, St. Jerom's R.C Cemetery,Tamaqua.
