Richard J. Wiskoski, husband, father, grandfather, of West Main Street Weatherly, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Weatherwood Nurisng & Rehabilitation Ctr. at the age of 88. Survived by his wife of 67 years Jane A. (Eroh) Wiskoski; son, Ron G. Wiskoski and his wife Georgianne of Weatherly; daughters, Alice Coburn wife of Joseph of Pine Bushing, NY, Audrey Bird wife of Thomas of White Haven, and Ann Wiskoski of Allentown; grand children, Benjamin, Kyle, Eric, Zachary, Michael, Sarah; great grand child, Alex. Born Saturday, November 15, 1930 in McAdoo the son of the late Stanley, and Ida (Loyeski) Wiskoski. He was also predeceased by a son, Richard S. Wiskoski on December 23, 1999; sisters, Helen Upshaw, Wanda Musseline, Sophia Fallabel, and Lydia Farnish; brother, Edward Wiskoski. A 1949 graduate of the former St. Gabriel's R.C. High School in Hazleton, he earned his electrical certification certificate from I.C.S. Technical school of Scranton. Richard had worked at Tung-Sol in Weatherly, retired from All Steel of Hazleton, and then worked at Weatherwood Nursing Home for a number of years. A talented accordion player having played in numerous Polka Bands throughout N.E. Pennsylvania, Richard enjoyed walking and running. He was an active member of the Weatherly Seniors Friendship Club. A devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, Richard served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a longtime member of the choir and Primetime Club of the church. He was a a member of Knights of Columbus St. Nicholas Chapter 12105 and was a Fourth Degree Knight of St. Benedict Assembly #937 of Hazleton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services of 211 First Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday November 29, 2018 at 1 o'clock P.M. from Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255. Friends may call at church from 11:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Msgr William Baker to officiate. Interment will be in St. Nicholas R.C.C. Cemetery, Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
