Richard P. . Mehalick

Mr. Richard P. Mehalick, age 70, of Amity Lane Hazleton, Pa., died Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Hazleton General Hospital in Hazleton.

A 1958 Hazleton High School graduate, Richard entered the United States Airforce upon graduation.

He and his wife owned the former Country House Inn in Weatherly, and then owned and operated the Beaver Meadows Deli from 1975 to 2005.

A Member of SS. Peter & Paul's Byzantine Church of Beaver Meadows, he had served as Vice President of the Holy Name.

Richard, was a member of the Beaver Meadows American Legion.

Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Yackanicz) Mehalick.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mrs. Pattie (Minnick) Mehalick;

Lisa M. (Mehalick) Reyes wife of Ilson of Hazleton,
Nicole (Mehalick) Vajda wife of David of Harwood,
Tara (Mehalick) Moser wife of Christopher of Weatherly;

One Son,
Richard P. Mehalick and his wife Cheryle of Beaver Meadows;

Three Sisters,
Sandra (Mehalick) Dellarciprete wife of Nicholas of Harrisburg,
Martha (Mehalick) Steber wife of Joseph of Beaver Meadows,
Marilyn (Mehalick) Petchell wife of Daniel of Fork River, N.J.;

Seven grandchildren, Samantha, Tyler, Alexia, Jeremy, Nathan, Jessica, and Faith;

Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./ Sup. where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2011.

Parastas service will be at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday evening.

Divine Liturgy with Office of Christine Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul's Byzantine Church at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 16, 2011, F.R. James J. Demko officiating.

No calling hrs. Wed. morning

Interment with Military Honors at Union Cemetery of Weatherly.
