Mr. Richard C. Krell, age 87, of Spring House Road Lehighton, Pa., died Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Blue Mountain Health Systems in Lehighton.
Richard, retired from ICI/ Atlas in 1986 after 38 years of service, last working as maintenance foreman on the Primer Line.
A member of St Peter's Union Church of West Penn Twp., and a member of the American Legion Post 314, Lehighton.
Richard, was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, having served as Chief Petty Officer on the U.S. LST in the Pacific Theater.
Born in West Penn Twp., he was the son of the late William J. and the late Clara L. (Beck) Krell-Dunkleberger.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys (Steigerwalt) Krell of Lehighton;
Three sons,
William R. Krell and his wife Lori of Tamaqua,
Jeffrey A. Krell and his companion of Playa Del Ray, Ca.,
Thomas C. Krell of Lehighton;
One sister,
Carolyn Shindler wife of Walter of Lehighton;
Nephew, Robert Krell of Pensacola, Fl.;
Two grand nieces;
One great grand niece, and great grand nephew;
Preceded in death by his brothers, Russell P., and Robert Krell; sister Mrs. Dorothy Kaiser;
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Rte. #309, New Ringgold, Pa., where friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. on Friday February 25, 2011.
Funeral Services with Military Honors, will be held from the Robert S. Nester F.H., Inc. at 11 o'clock A.M. with the Reverends Rodney Wells, and Russell L. J. Heintzelman officiating.
Interment at St. Peter's Church Cemetery of Mantzville.
