He served with honor in the Peace Corps before retiring on February 27, 2019, due to disability. He loved football, particularly cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, and enjoyed watching action movies. But above all, Richard cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Hart (née Mensinger); his daughter Tamara Hart Carlin of Northampton; his stepson Jared McMunn; his son Timothy "Tim" Mitch; and his many beloved grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his second wife, who passed on August 3, 2017. He and Debra married on June 22, 2018, and together they created a life filled with laughter, love, and resilience.
Their bond was strong, built on shared values and deep companionship.
A man of depth and great love, Richard could often be found relaxing in the hot tub, smiling with a beer in hand, and always ready to share stories and memories with those around him. He will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, dedication to family, and the warm light he brought into every room.
