Rhea N. Schuetrum, age 69, of West Elm Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at home surrounded by her family.
A 1957 Tamaqua High School graduate, Rhea went to work for Prudential Insurance in California, returning to work for Prudential in Hazleton, Pa.
Leaving Prudential, Rhea was hired as one of two Meter Maid's for the Tamaqua Police Department. Her 33 year career, encompassed many roles from office administrator for the Police Department to dispatcher. Rhea, retired from the Tamaqua Police force in 2007.
She was a member, St. John's U.C.C., the F.O.P., and Tamaqua Legion Auxillary.
Born in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and the Agnes (Weicker) Schuetrumpf.
She is survived by her

Shirley (Schuetrumpf) Reigel wife of Herbert of Tamaqua, Pa.
Mae (Schuetrumpf) Zavocki wife of John of Aluchua, Fla.
Carol Schuetrumpf of Drums, Pa.;
Two Brothers,
Norman Schuetrumpf and his wife Mabel
Marlin Schuetrumpf and his wife Dolly, both of Tamaqua, Pa.;
Sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Schuetrumpf of Tamaqua; many nieces and nephews;
Preceded in death by her brother, Claude W. Schuetrumpf on Sept. 24, 2000.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 29, 2009 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, July 30, 2009.
Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 30, 2009, Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy officiating.
Private Interment will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua, Pa.
