Raymond L. Kochin, 82 years of age of Weatherly, Pennsylvania died unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2022, at home.
Born Thursday, August 31, 1939 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania the son of the late Louis, and Helen (Wietecha) Kochin.
Surviving are; his beloved wife of 58 years, Joan C. (Clark) Kochin; son, Raymond R. Kochin and wife Susan Hughes of Weatherly; daughters, Colleen L. Walker and her husband, Jeffrey of Berwick, Michele J. Gerhard and her husband, Daniel of Weatherly, Marguerite A. "Peggy" Obert and her husband, Chad of Weatherly, Kimberly H. Kochin of Geneva, NY; sister, Joan Logan and her husband, Ed; grand children, Kevin and Justin Walker, Rayelle Hughes, Raymond Kochin, Jr. and his wife Amy, Gabrielle and Chad Obert, Jr., Ashton Gerhard, Douglas Gerhard; great grand children, Laila and Scarlett Kochin, Christopher Shields, Lyrik Gerhard; nephew, and Godson, Nicholas Lauro. Many other nieces, and nephews also survive Ray, in addition to his beloved cat Walter.
A 1957 graduate of Hazleton High School, Ray served his country honorably as a corporal in the United States Marine Corp. Returning home Ray entered the Pennsylvania State Police Academy where he had a 32 year career of public service.
A member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, Ray belonged to the Weatherly American Legion, having overseen the presentation of Military Honors for his fellow deceased Weatherly comrade's. Ray was a private pilot, enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, and trips to the Casino.
Devoted to his family, community, and state, Ray looked forward to visits from his grandchildren who affectionately called him pop-pop. His presence will be missed by many.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2022 at 2 o'clock P.M. from Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255. Friends may call in church from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Military Honors to be bestowed in church.
Private interment St. Peter & Paul R.C.C. Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania.
Interment will be in St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Meadows, PA.
