Mrs. Rachel E. (Arner) Steigerwalt, age 93, of Clamtown, Tamaqua, Pa., died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, Pa.

A homemaker, Rachel was a member of Zion Stone Church of West Penn Twp, and of the Leading Star Chapter #79 Order of Eastern Star of Newton Falls, Ohio.

Born in Mahoning Twp., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Della (Sinyard) Arner.

She is survived by her

Two Sons,
Rene Steigerwalt and his wife Rita of Chester, N.J.
Kenneth L. Steigerwalt with whom she resided of Tamaqua, Pa.;

Two Half Sisters,
Betty (Arner) Bird wife of Tiny of Las Vegas, Nev.
Doris Souders wife of Charles of Bowmanstown, Pa.;

Brother,
Willard Arner of Lehighton, Pa.;

Half Brother
Donald Arner of Leesburg, Fla.;

Three grandchildren
Six great-grandchildren

Preceded in death by her husband in 1990, Herman W. Steigerwalt; son in July of 2008, Robert M. Steigerwalt; brother, Ernest Arner.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2009, Rev. Michael A. Frost officiating.

Interment will be at Zion Stone Church Cemetery of West Penn Twp. of New Ringgold, Pa
