Phyllis Zeird

Mrs. Phyllis Zeird, age 75, of Washington Street Tamaqua, Pa., died peacefully Tuesday January 22, 2008 at Heritage House in Wilkes- Barre, Pa., surrounded by her family. Phyllis moved to Drums, Pa. after taking ill to be cared for by her family.

Born and raised in Tamaqua, Pa., Phyllis was a member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Pa.;

A woman who enjoyed social gatherings, she belonged to the, American Legion Post #173 Ladies Auxillary of Tamaqua; Rush - Ryan & Delano Senior Citizens; Tamaqua Senior Citizens.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Zeird, Jr. in 1988; son Robert G. Zeird, III, who returned home from Georgia to care for his mother and died unexpectedly a month ago on December 6, 2007.

She is survived by her

Two Daughters,
Mrs. Debra Lynn (Zeird) McKenzie wife of Randy of Drums, Pa.
Miss Corinne Phyllis Zeird of Drums, Pa.

One Sister,
Mrs. Kathleen (Coonon) Umberger of Lebanon, Pa.

A loving Grammy to Adam and Jessica Zeird, and Shawna McKenzie;

Daughter-in-law Susan Zeird of Rome Ga.; mother-in-law, Margaret Zeird of Tamaqua; brother-in-law William Zeird and his wife Gwen of Lititz, Pa.

Several Nieces and Nephews.

Also preceded in death by brothers, Daniel and Jerome Coonon; sister Mrs. Joan (Coonon) Smith.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2008 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, January 25, 2008.

Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Friday, January 25, 2008, officiated by the Rev., Dr. David W. Grant.

Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park Tamaqua, Pa.
