Mr. Peter R. Yagalla, age 83, of 660 Brenkman Drive Weatherly, Pa., died Sunday, October 26, 2008, at Hazleton General Hospital in Hazleton, Pa.
Peter was a life long truck driver last driving for Frame Oil of Beaver Meadows, retiring in 1985.
A 1943 Weatherly High School graduate, Peter received a certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning after graduation. He served in the United States Army during WWII, earning Three Bronze Stars.
He was a memebr of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, Pa., and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus St. Nicholas Lodge, Peter was the first Altar Server at Our Lady of Lourdes Mission when the church was in Buck Mountain.
Peter was also a member of the Weatherly American Legion.
Born in Weatherly, he was the son of the late Peter and Louise (Lozouski) Yagalla.
He is also survived by his wife of 62 years Mrs. Ruth E. (Van Horn) Yagalla;

Preceded in death by a grand daughter, Mrs. Jeanine Ann (Craig) Lombardi in 1986; brothers, Stanley, and Clement Yagalla; sisters Mrs. Helen Dolinsky, Mrs. Mary Davies, and Miss Theresa Yegalla.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home Funeral Home, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries Supervisor F.D.
The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Loudes R.C.C. 318 Plain Street Weatherly, Pa., October 28, 2008 and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 28, 2008, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM. Friends may also call the morning of from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be at Our Lady of Loudes R.C.C., Wed. October 29, 2008 at 11 o'clock AM, Rev. Floyd Caesar officiating
Interment with Military Honors Union Cemetery, Weatherly, Pa.
