Paul C. James, husband, father, and grandfather age 82, of Walker Twp., died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Tamaqua.
Survived by his wife of 59 years, Katie B. (Herring) James.
A 1950 Tamaqua High School graduate, and career United States Air Force veteran, retiring in 1972 as a Master Sgt. having served 21 years. Paul was a Silver Star recipient.
Paul, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1980.
Upon retirement he and his family moved back to Tamaqua where he worked for the former P&B Sporting Goods of Tamaqua.
Paul maintained memberships in, the Association of Retired Air Force Explosive Ordance Disposal Personnel, Air Force Sergeants Association, Disabled Amercian Veteran Association, and was a associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
On any given day he and Kate could be found enjoying their group of friends who gathered at the Tamaqua Burger King.
Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Charles O. James 2nd, and Helen (Wentz) James.

Keith R. James and his wife LeeAnn,
Paul C. James, Jr., both of Tamaqua;
Brother,
William R. James of Lewisburg, Pa.
Three grandchildren, Keith R., William Paul, and Eric Charles James;
One Great-Grandchild.
Preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Pauline Herring.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday, November 7, 2013.
A Memorial service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., at 6 o'clock PM Thursday, November 7, 2013.
Interment Friday November 8, 2013 at Ft. Indiantown gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
