Nicholas Carl Mondero, 82 years of age, husband, father, and grandfather, of East Main Street Weatherly, passed into God's care while surrounded by his family, Saturday evening April 19, 2014.
Survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Shirleyan (Vozar) Mondero.
A Hazleton High School graduate, Carl worked for Penn Dot as a Superintendent for 25 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly.
Having played Minor League Baseball, he fostered his love of the game coaching his children while they played Little League in Weatherly. Carl was an exceptional athlete who enjoyed watching Notre Dame games and following the Red Sox. Golf was his true passion. A multi-year Club Champion at Mount Laurel Golf Course, he accomplished the remarkable feat of acing four holes-in-one. He will always be remembered for his pool shooting skills and love of cards, especially gin and pinochle.
Carl served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Born in Beaver Meadows, the son of the late Nicholas, and Susan (Melovich) Mondero.

Three grandchildren who he loved and doted on; Brady, Sydney, and Dani.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10 o'clock A.M. from Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pa., Rev. Floyd Caesar to officiate.
Friends shall be received in church from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
Interment Union Cemetery of Weatherly.
