Nathan E. " Dutchy" Steigerwalt , age 89, of Blakeslee Blvd., West Lehighton, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Mahoning Valley Nursing Home in Lehighton,

Widower of Gladys (Frey) Steigerwalt, who died on January 16, 2013

Nathan was a 1942 graduate of Summit Hill High School, and served in the United States Navy during WWII.

A member of St. John Mahoning Evangelical Church, where he had served on consistory. Nathan was a member of Masonic Lodge # 621, and member of Lehigh Consistory Scotttish Rite. Nathan maintained membership in the Summit Hill Legion Post #316, and was a founding member of the Mahoning Valley Fire Company.

Nathan owned and operated Normal Square Service Station for over 40 years, retiring in 1986.

Born in Summit Hill, son of the late George O., and Amelia (Hamm) Steigerwalt

Survived by his sons;

Arnold G. Steigerwalt and his wife Ronna, Lilburn , GA,

Bruce W Steigerwalt , Lehighton,

Craig E. Steigerwalt and his wife Susan , Slatington;

Marion Kupres, Lakeland , FL

Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, PA. 17960, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

Funeral Services will be at 11 o'clock A.M. from the funeral home, Reverend Chris DeForest to officiate.

Interment with Military Honors, will be at St. John Mahoning Church Cemetery, Lehighton.
