Nannette "Nan" L. Marek

Mrs. Nannette "Nan" L. (Greene) Marek, age 69, of Macintosh Lane New Ringgold, Pa., died Sunday, December 20, 2009, at St. Lukes Medical Ctr. in Bethlehem.

Nan, attended Parryville schools. She was a homemaker and avid gardener,landscaper, cook, and interior decorator, baker and cook. During the holidays, she took great delight in decorating her home to showcase to family and friends.

Upon being diagnosed with cancer in 2005, she and her husband Mark, embarked on a three week, memorable vacation to Hawaii, where she came home prepared, and determined to fight her illness.

Nan, had cooked for several eating establishments, last working for the Wood Catering Co., serving Air Products in Trexlertown, Pa.

A member of Zion Stone Church of West Penn Twp., she also was a member of the Ladies Aux. of the Lehighton American Legion.

Born in Parryville, she was the daughter of the late Norman and the late Florence (Andreas) Greene.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Mark M. Marek;

Jeanine N. Hill-Jacob wife of Meritt, both of New Ringgold;

Ronald A. Hill and his wife Josie of Mahoning Valley;

Florence (Greene) Babinchak of Palmerton;

Five Brothers,
Robert Greene of Weissport,
Norman Greene and his wife Shirley of Lehighton,
Carl Greene and his wife Donna of Lehighton,
Lester Greene and his wife Jenny of Bowmanstown, Paul Greene and his wife Phyllis of New Ringgold;

Five grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, Danielle, Haleigh, and Shayna;

Step Son-Kristopher Marek of Del-Ray Beach, Fla.; step-daughter, Jolene Marek of Tamaqua.

Preceded in death by her brother, William Greene; sisters, Genevieve Brown, Pearl Eck and Pauline Andrews.

Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Rte. #309 Snyders Village New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday December 22, 2009, and on Wed. morning December 23, 2009 from 10 o'clock AM until time of service at Zion Stone Church of West Penn Twp. Cemetery Road New Ringgold, Pa.

Funeral Service Wed. December 23, 2009 from Zion Stone Church of West Penn Twp. at 11 o'clock AM, Rev. Michael A. Frost officiating.

Interment will be at Zion Stone Church Cemetery of West Penn Twp., New Ringgold.
