Nancy Brode Barron

Mrs. Nancy B. (Brode) Barron, age 68, of 201 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.
A 1960 Tamaqua High School graduate, Nancy was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church of Tamaqua. Her devotion to her church began as a child, having been a member of the youth choir and continuing through to the adult choir, she was a member of the P.M. Missionary Society, Ladies Aid, Edith Powis Bible Class, and taught Sunday School, while serving as church custodian for 21 years.
A Nanny to many area children, Nancy also had worked at the former Wood's Candy Store, Anchor Deep Seafood, and White Dinner.
She was a member of the former T.O.P.'s of Tamaqua, joining in 1980.
Born in Tamaqua,she was the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Edmonds) Brode.
She is survived by her
One Daughter,
Kim A. (Barron) Smith wife of Robert of Tamaqua;
One Son,
James R. Barron of Tamaqua;
One Brother,
John "Jack" Brode of Tamaqua;
Two grandchildren, Justin, and Ryan;
Two great-grandchildren, Makenna, and Jace;
Many cousins, nieces, and nephews;
Preceded in death by her husband, James Barron on December 30, 2010; sister Shirley (Brode) DwoJak; brother, Eugene Brode.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2011.
Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2011, the Reverends Neal & Robert Smith officiating.
Interment will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua.
