Myrtle "Tiny" Hoppes
April 28, 1923 — August 14, 2015
Myrtle M. "Tiny" Hoppes, 92 years of age, formerly of South Tamaqua, passed away on August 14, 2015, in Palmerton, Pennsylvania.
Widow of the late Earl W. Hoppes who passed away on May 11, 1998.
A 1941 Lehighton High School graduate, Myrtle worked at the former Leiby's Restaurant for 34 years, and the former Girard Mills of Tamaqua for 18 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. John's U.C.C, of Slatington.
Myrtle loved to walk, play pinochle, and watch Penn State Football. Her final year of life was spent at The Village at Palmerton where she was very happy and enjoyed all their activities. She was blessed with many wonderful friends.
Born in the Jamestown section of Lehighton, the daughter of the late Ruth (Snyder) Holland, she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Harry and Sarah Snyder.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Ronald Hoppes and his wife Sandra of Poulsbo, WA; daughter, Mrs. Earla Melatti wife of Livio of Sun City Center, FL; grandson, Lee Melatti and his wife Karen of Lutz, FL, Christopher Melatti and his wife Lisa of Fayetteville, GA,; five great grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Morgan, Matthew, and Marissa.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 2066 West Penn Pike New Ringgold, Pennsylvania 17960.
Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday morning August 18, 2015 at 11 o'clock A.M.
Friends shall be received at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
Interment Sky-View Memorial Park Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
