Myrl E. Dietrich, devoted mother, and grandmother, 81 years of age of Quakake Road Weatherly, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus.
Widow of Herman W. Dietrich who passed away on July 30, 2013.
Born Monday, October 9, 1933 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
Surviving are son, Daniel C. Dietrich and his wife Wendy; daughters, Mrs. Diane C. Fisher, Nancy Dietrich, all of Weatherly, Mrs. Leah McVeigh , and her husband Jeffrey of Newtown Square, PA,; brothers, Earl Titus and his wife Rosalie, William Titus and his wife Barbara, and Thomas Titus and his wife Mary all of Weatherly; 10 grand children, Jennifer, Bruce, Andrea, Leslie, Carl, Laura, Kelly, Jeffrey, Jr., Mark, and Ryan; 5 great grand children, Kendra, Derek, Josie, Daxton, and Alexia.
A Tamaqua High School graduate class of 1952, Myrl had worked at Tung-Sol and retired from Consolidated Cigar in Banks Twp. A member of St. Matthews' Church of Weatherly, Myrl enjoyed camping, traveling, beating pac man, doing word search puzzles, and tending to her animals, especially her two beloved pugs.
Filled with compassion and interest in others, Myrl made friends easily and maintained contact with many throughout the years. She was on the phone for hours in the evenings catching up on distant relatives and old friends. There was never an event that happened in the valley that Myrl didn't have the inside scoop on. Her main role in life was to be the best wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend that could be, and she truly was. She kissed every scraped knee and for those more severe injuries she would say "Just come here and I'll cut it off", no one ever took up on that offer from Dr. Myrl; she always made us feel better with her humor. You never went hungry or left her house without a hat on your head in the winter. She never missed a birthday or anniversary, or any important date. Myrl was a colorful person that added light to everyday and her world was complete caring for all of her "babies".
Born on October 9, 1933 in Hometown, the daughter of the late Albert and Edna (Woodring) Titus.
