Michael J. Zupko, 79 years of age of Willing Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hopital Salisbury Twp..

Survived by his wife of sixty years, Catherine M. (Fulmer) Zupko; daughters, Linda M. (Zupko) Wagner and her husband Bud of Lake Hauto, and Maria R. Zupko of West Penn Twp.; brother, Edward Zupko and his wife Pat of Tamaqua, and his grand daughters, Katie, and Megan; Special Cousin, Joseph Leskosky.

A 1954 Tamaqua High School graduate, Mike served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict rising to the rank of RM2. He maintained membership in the Roy O. Hale Association Naval Ship DER.-336. A Fifty year member of the Tamaqua Legion Post #173, Tamaqua, Elks, Life member of the South Ward Fire Company, and Knights of Columbus Father Henry Baker Chapter, Tamaqua, he was a member of St. John XXIII R.C.C.

Michael retired from the Federal Government as a Quality Control Assurance Inspector with the Department of Defense and Logistics Agency, last stationed at Kovatch Corporation in Nesquehoning.

Michael was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and taking long walks.

Born Sunday, May 3, 1936 in Tuscarora, Pennsylvania the son of the late John, and Madeline (Leskosky) Zupko.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 o'clock AM on Wednesday May 20, 2015 from St. John XXIII R.C.C., located at 266 West Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.

A Gathering of Friends will take place Tuesday evening May 19, 2015 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home & on Wednesday morning May 20, 2015 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Interment with Military Honors to be bestowed at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania.
