Mr. Matthew Curtis Mertz, age 29, of Lansford, Pa., died Sunday, February 17, 2008 in Lancaster, Pa.
Lutheran by faith, Matthew was a 1995 Lehighton High School graduate having played on the football and Wrestling teams. While in High School he participated in the Jr. R.O.T.C.
Born in Lehighton, he was the son of Richard and Alice (Williams) Mertz.
He is survived by his
Wife, Kristina (Stradling) Mertz;
Daughter, Kira Alexis Mertz
Son, Gavon Matthew Mertz of Lehighton, Pa.
One Sister,
Mrs. Diane S. (Mertz) Melnick of Walnutport, Pa.
One Brother,
Mr. John R. Ciavaglia and his wife Tina of Stroudsburg, Pa.
Paternal Grandmother-Mrs. LuLu Mertz of Ashfield, Pa.
Preceded in death in 2002 by his seven year old daughter, Elizabeth Barrett.
Private arrangements are being handled by Holmes - Griffiths Funeral Home Inc., 200 E. Bertsch Str, Lansford, Pa..
Interment will be at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, Pa.
