Mary Louise Sword, age 67, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Hometown Nursing Home and was Catholic by faith. She was born on October 23, 1949 at Coaldale Hospital and was a life-long resident of Carbon County. She graduated from Panther Valley High School in 1967.
From her birth until she died, Mary Lou loved spending time with friends and family, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the movies and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola C. Gallagher, her father, John W. Gallagher, and her cat, Booger.
She is survived by her children, Anthony, Michael (Michelle), Justine, Jonathan (Nancy); sister, Grace Gallagher-Kondertavage (Anthony Kondertavage); grandchildren, Grace, Alyson, Chance, Jessica, Shane, and Roy and other family.
Mary Lou will be remembered as a person with a marvelous sense of humor and quick to laugh. Family and friends who were touched by her and her wonderful spirit are invited to E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, PA on January 27, 2017 between 2:00pm-3:00pm.
