Mary Margaret O'Malley

O'Malley, Mary Margaret, 69, of Irvine, CA, was welcomed into Heaven on Oct. 8th, 2011.
She was born Oct. 31st, 1941 in Coaldale. She graduated from Tamaqua High in 1959, Coatesville Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 and NY Polytechnical Institute.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for 48 years. She started her nursing career at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. She also worked in the states of New York, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and California. Mary retired from Hoag Hospital in 2008 after 21 years of service.
She married Paul A. O'Malley in 1966 and had daughters, Kathleen born in 1969 and Eileen born in 1973. Mary had a zest for life and though she had traveled the world and lived in Bermuda for 3 years, she especially looked forward to her annual drive back to her beloved hills of Pennsylvania.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Joseph and Helen Zayleskie; brothers, Joseph and Charles Zayleskie; and sister, Eleanor.
She is survived by her husband, Paul of Irvine; daughters, Kathleen of Hesperia, CA and Eileen of Oceanside, CA; sisters, Kathryn Pence of Warren, OH and Grace Ann Varano of Tamaqua, PA.
Mary touched many people's hearts and souls and will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to be in her life.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10 o'clock AM from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., 307 Pine St., Tamaqua, Reverend William Linkchorst to officiate.
Interment at St. Jerome R.C.C.C., Tamaqua.
