Mrs. Mary E. (Gerhard) Meyers, age 78, a guest of the Weatherwood Nursing Home, died Saturday, January 16, 2010, the Gnaden Huetten Hospital of Lehighton.
A life long resident of Hudsondale, Mary was a 1949 Weatherly High School graduate, and also was a graduate of McCann's School of Business, Hazleton.
She worked for 28 years at Tung-sol of Weatherly and West Hazleton, retiring as a Baker from the J&E I.G.A. of Weatherly.
Mary, was affiliated with Salem U.C.C. of Weatherly.
Born in Hudsondale, she was the daughter of the late John Homer Gerhard.
She is survived by her
Two Daughters,
Debbie (Meyers) Pugh wife of Robert , and
Linda (Meyers) Dice wife of Paul both of Weatherly;
One Sister,
Mrs. Alice (Gerhard) Boganski of Perth Amboy, N.J.;
Two Brothers,
Thomas Gerhard and his Betty,
Gilbert Gerhard and his wife Shirley, both of Weatherly;
Four grandchildren, Bobby Pugh and his companion Brenda, Stephanie wife of John Halliday, Brandon Pugh and his wife Karen, and Paula Dice;
Four great-grandchildren, Jared Kishbaugh, Brianna, and DeAnna Pugh, and Jacob Halliday;
Several nieces and nephews; Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Meyers.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./ Sup., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2010.
Funeral service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM
Wednesday, January 20, 2010, Rev. Fredericka Beauchard officiating.
Interment will be at St. Matthew's Union Cemetery, Weatherly.
Memorials in her care to the Carbon County Animal Shelter.
